LoessFest 2009:
A grand new LoessFest will be held in Novi Sad in 2009. Ten years on from the marvellous LoessFest 1999 in Heidelberg and Bonn. If you are interested in any aspect contact Slobodan Markovic at zbir@im.ns.ac.yu . The timing is now fixed; the meeting will take place 31 August-4 September 2009 at the University of Novi Sad. Short field trips are planned to see the loess at Stari Slankamen, and Ruma brickyard, and other interesting places.

Dear All
Windy Day 2009, an informal one-day meeting for the UK aeolian research
community, will be held in the Department of Geography, Loughborough
University on:
Friday 23-October
Talks concerning aeolian processes and landforms at various spatial and
temporal scales are invited and abstracts (< 250 words) for
presentations should be sent by email to Joanna Bullard
(j.e.bullard@lboro.ac.uk
) by the deadline of Tuesday 15-September.
As usual, there is no charge for attending the meeting, but you must let
me know if you plan to attend so that I can organise an
appropriate-sized venue..
Lunch will be provided.
A detailed programme will be circulated once the programme has been
finalised.
